Sentry offers a full line of property, casualty and life insurance products to protect businesses, cars, homes, lives and retirement incomes. Responsibilities Premium Acquisition and Retention
Increase premium volume through the retention of existing accounts and acquisition of new profitable business accounts.
Retain profitable business by providing effective quality service to policyholders including total insurance planning consisting of analyzing existing insurance, assessing needs and meeting those needs through the sale of Sentry products with a strong emphasis on cross-selling and account completion.
Conduct policy audits, which involves a periodic review of the adequacy of present insurance coverages.
Call on and pursue all Focus Market leads assigned to the geographic territory.
SMART System must be used to track and record all prospecting and proposal activity. Accurate information documenting the status of prospects as well as current customer contacts is critical and required.
Maintain a working relationship with any local or state Focus Market associations located in the territory. This may include the solicitation of member accounts, enrollments or trade show participation.

Field Underwriting
Field underwrite new business according to company policies and procedures.
Participate in loss prevention activities by inspecting the risk to determine eligibility and to assure company standards are met.
Advise company on market trends and the product needs of policyholders.

Policyholder Service
Conduct regular policyholder audits through a periodic review of the adequacy of present exposures and insurance coverages.
In the event of a loss, refer the policyholder to the appropriate claims center.
Contact policyholder for remittance of late premiums.

Relationships
Work with Home Office underwriting and customer service units as needed.
Work closely with Market Affiliations and Sentry employees to maximize the available prospecting and sales opportunities.
Have regular contact with a Business Products Manager, sales office staff, or other sales support functions.
Have daily contact with policyholders, sales support staff, underwriting, claims, etc.
Review the Corporate Sales Home Page daily for current product and procedure information as well as announcements and incentives. This will become progressively more important for successful completion of all position responsibilities. Qualifications Previous successful sales experience is preferred. Knowledge of Property & Casualty Insurance a plus. Excellent interpersonal, computer and organizational skills required. Acceptable MVR a must. Ability to meet the travel requirements of the position is required. Compensation and Benefits The starting salary may be up to $45,000 annually plus new business commissions depending on experience and qualifications.
